Boats At Dawn

Advertisements

I took this photo on a quiet morning at Gold Coast.

That’s my late husband, siting there with his sister by the lighthouse, watching the little boats head out to sea for fishing. There so many of them to count -one after another like a silent procession into the day. We sat there in the stillness during one winter morning, waiting for the sun to rise. It was fascinating, peaceful, and somehow unforgettable. I didn’t know then just how precious that moment would become. But I remember the sound of the waves. I remember his calm. I remember the light slowly blooming on the horizon. Some mornings stay with you forever.
