Rainbow Lorikeets in the Bottlebrush

Every now and then, the bush goes quiet just long enough to hear a soft flutter of wings, and that’s when I spotted these Rainbow Lorikeets. Their blue heads, bright orange chests, and vivid green wings lit up against the red bottlebrush flowers, turning an ordinary morning walk into a burst of colour through the viewfinder.

Moments like this are a good reminder that wildlife photography is all about patience and timing. Most of the time you’re just waiting quietly, letting the world settle around you — and then, for a few brief seconds, you’re in exactly the right place at exactly the right time.
