What Is Blogging Like For Me-The Beginning.

Early stages of my blogging were, well, rather shameful. I had no experience, didn’t know what I was doing, and honestly, every post felt like an embarrassment.

Starting out with WordPress, I must have tried at least two themes over the years. One was called something odd like “djsfuntimeimages” , and the other one was “My Photo Gallery”. Both failed miserably. I ended up deleting them, and one lingered half alive while the other disappeared completely.
It took me years trying to find my place and identity.
What I am trying to say is that…

*It’s okay to start messy
*It’s okay to delete and try again
*It’s okay if it takes years

Part One: The Beginning

I tried everything, and if you are the kind of person who feels ashamed to ask for help, you shouldn’t have to be. I was like that for years. But slowly. I had to learn the basics just to get around WordPress.

Recently, I realised I’ve been here for 11 years. Congratulations to me, I suppose. That felt good somehow. Even after all this time, I’m still figuring it out.

But that’s the point. We are all still learning. And one day, we will look back and laugh at those first steps and say, “How on earth did I do that?”

When I first wrote this, I worried people might laugh at me for not knowing enough. Most seemed to know more about blogging than I did. But the truth is, this was my beginning. And beginnings don’t have to be perfect — they just have to be honest.

  1. Much the same. My early posts have been deleted. I found photo challenges and a lovely supportive blog “family”. Photo challenges are my addiction 😂

    1. That’s really good that you joined the photo Challenges and the support. I started with my photography and then my camera got stolen because someone broke into my house.. bought different brand camera didn’t like it so I gave up😊. For some reason I keep showing up, to this day haven’t used my camera but phone 😊

      1. I am glad you keep going. Blogging can be a good creative outlet and some people appreciate your work 😀 I am not the best with my phone camera but always have my camera with me anyway 📷😁

      2. I am glad I did too . And for sure creativity is fun and exhausting sometimes 😊. Iam glad some appreciate what I do , it’s things I live through so sometimes from the heart 😊

    1. You are very welcome and thank you for commenting. I like reading posts a lot of us are here to blog and we all have opinions and things we go through, sometimes sharing helps even if no one reads our story, and that’s the best part. We keep showing up. Have a good day.

      1. I understand what you are saying, and am in total agreement with you. You may find it interesting in that the author would like for her book to sell, but says that all that she did was for God.

  2. That’s incredible indeed complete 11 years in blogging. Your consistency is commendable.

I have seen many bloggers quitting blogging soon after entering into. Completing a decade in blogging shows your commitment and patience as well. 🙏

Many many congratulations for the 11th anniversary. Wishing you more successful years ahead. 👍💯💯🎉
