“The Sun Signed Its Name”

Shot on my Nikon, April 2018 — the light was so strong it left its own mark.

I didn’t mind the glare. It felt like proof that I was really there —

standing at the curve of that road, watching the day turn gold.

The day was almost done when I took this —

the road still warm, the grass whispering in soft light.

Somewhere behind me, the sun was folding itself into the horizon.

It didn’t feel like an ending, just a pause —

the kind the land takes before it exhales.
